#TopTenTuesday – Top Swoon-worthy Moments in YA

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

So, a disclaimer before I get to it. I only took my iPad with me (traveling for work), and I cannot for the life of me, get this thing to format correctly. Should I have finished editing this before I traveled? Yes. Did I? No. Of course not. So, apologies. I’ll fix it as soon as I’m home. :/

Now then, a perfectly themed Top Ten Tuesday this week, just in time for Valentine’s Day. ❤ Below you will find my picks for some swoon-worthy moments in YA novels. Ten is waaay too many; my heart can only take so much you guys!

Top Swoony Moments in YA

Clockwork Prince (Infernal Devices) by Cassandra Clare — Will to Tessa:

“He bent to put his cheek against hers. His breath against her ear made her shudder with each deliberately spoken word.

‘I have wanted to do this,’ he said, ‘every moment of every hour of every day that I have been with you since the day I met you.’”

Honestly, I prefer Tessa with Jem because, frankly, the world just needs more Jems, but you cannot deny the swooniness of the above quote. *melts*

Divergent by Veronica Roth — Tris and Tobias:

“I have something I need to tell you,” he says. I run my fingers along the tendons in his hands and look back at him. “I might be in love with you.” He smiles a little. “I’m waiting until I’m sure to tell you, though.”

“That’s sensible of you,” I say, smiling too. “We should find some paper so you can make a list or a chart or something.”

I feel his laughter against my side, his nose sliding along my jaw, his lips pressing my ear.
“Maybe I’m already sure,” he says, “and I just don’t want to frighten you.”

I laugh a little. “Then you should know better.”

“Fine,” he says. “Then I love you.”

Is there anything better than a dystopian love story!?!?

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas — Feyre to Rhysand:

“Aware of every breath, every movement, I sat in his lap. His hands gently braced my hips as I studied his face. “And now I want you to know, Rhysand, that I love you. I want you to know … ” His lips trembled, and I brushed away the tear that escaped down his cheek. “I want you to know,” I whispered, “that I am broken and healing, but every piece of my heart belongs to you. And I am honored—honored to be your mate.”
His arms wrapped around me and he pressed his forehead to my shoulder, his body shaking. I stroked a hand through his silken hair.
“I love you,” I said again. I hadn’t dared say the words in my head. “And I’d endure every second of it over again so I could find you. And if war comes, we’ll face it. Together. I won’t let them take me from you. And I won’t let them take you from me, either.”
Rhys looked up, his face gleaming with tears. He went still as I leaned in, kissing away one tear. Then the other. As he had once kissed away mine.
When my lips were wet and salty with them, I pulled back far enough to see his eyes. “You’re mine,” I breathed.”

I’m not crying, you’re crying! *blubbers* I’m totally naming my first-born Rhys.

Whew! I need to pause for a moment and catch my breath…

If I Stay by Gale Forman — Mia:

“Adam lay perfectly still, little groans escaping from his lips. I looked at the bow, looked at my hands, looked at Adam’s face and felt this surge of love, lust, and an unfamiliar feeling of power.”

That’s a great feeling, amiright?!?!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green — Gus to Hazel Grace:

“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

My list just would not have been complete without TFIOS. So many tears reading that one. ❤ ❤ ❤

All right, I simply cannot give you guys any more swoony moments. I hope your hearts are going pitter-patter, and be sure to give your loved ones some snuggles.
